Abundant life is not supposed to end just because we experience a mental health diagnosis or we reach a well-seasoned age or both. The mission of Barnabas Assisted Living is to “encourage fruitful lives” by providing love, encouragement, safety and active socialization.
Barnabas Assisted Living began operations in 2013 with the goal of making a positive difference in the lives of the residents that it is called to serve. The Barnabas organization is named after Barnabas of the New Testament who was the encourager of Paul the Apostle among others. In the same way, Barnabas Assisted Living seeks to positively encourage our residents to achieve maximum independence and a fruitful life.
We use the term fruitful in the biblical sense as defined by Paul, the Apostle “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.”Galatians 5:22-23
We are by no means perfect. We try to learn from our mistakes. We do work to get better every day. Our work revolves around our residents and their treatment plans. We have been very fortunate to “graduate” many residents from our facilities into private or independent living. We have also had residents and their medical conditions break our hearts. But we know that God allows us to work through the easy and difficult, the good and the bad, as we live out our earthly calling in service to the Savior of the world, Jesus Christ Our Lord.
